How We Compare Tours
After 15 years guiding visitors through Tenerife, I noticed the same problem: travellers drowning in tour options with no honest way to compare them. TripAdvisor rankings are gamed. Google reviews don't tell you which tour is better for your situation.
Every tour on this site has been tested — either by me personally or by guides I trust. We compare across four dimensions:

Don't want to read every page? Here's what I'd tell a friend:
If You Only Do 3 Things in Tenerife
- Sunset & Stargazing at Teide (€75) — The best value-for-experience on the island. Sunset above the clouds, then the Milky Way with telescopes. Book around the new moon.
- Nashira Uno Whale Watching (€55) — Small group (11 people), hydrophone for whale sounds, ethical operator. The 10am slot is best.
- Masca Gorge Hike — The most dramatic trail on the island. End with a boat ride past Los Gigantes cliffs. Book the boat in advance.
If You're on a Budget (Under €100 Total)
- Anaga Cloud Forest Hike (Free) — Ancient laurisilva forest, multiple trail lengths. Best free activity on the island.
- Freebird Catamaran (€30) — Budget whale watching. You'll see whales. It'll be crowded. But at €30, it works.
- La Laguna + Santa Cruz (€15) — UNESCO heritage city + tram to the capital. Authentic Canarian food at guachinches.
A Note on Honesty
This site earns money through affiliate commissions when you book tours through our links — at no extra cost to you. But rankings are never influenced by commissions. I've turned down tour operators who offered me money for a higher spot. If a tour isn't good enough, it doesn't appear here. Read the About page for my full approach.
