1. Who We Are
Tenerife Outdoor Guide operates at tenerife-outdoor-guide.com, run by Alejandro Vega in La Laguna, Tenerife, Canary Islands. We provide editorial comparisons of outdoor tours and activities.
2. What Data We Collect
Almost nothing. No user accounts, no comments, no newsletters. Specifically: Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation enabled, aggregated, anonymised page view data only. We cannot identify individual visitors. Cookies: GA4 sets first-party _ga cookies for analytics purposes only. No personal information stored. Email: If you contact us at alejandro@tenerife-outdoor-guide.com, we use your email address only to reply and never add it to any list.
We do NOT: sell or share personal data, run retargeting ads or tracking pixels, collect payment information (all bookings happen on Viator), or use social media tracking widgets.
3. Affiliate Disclosure
We participate in the Viator affiliate program (PID: P00303273, MCID: 42383). Bookings through our links may earn a small commission at no additional cost. Recommendations are independent of affiliate relationships, we recommend based on quality and value, not commission rates.
4. Your Rights
Under GDPR: right to know what data we hold (effectively nothing beyond anonymised analytics), right to deletion of any email correspondence. Opt out of GA4 via Google opt-out browser add-on.

Data Retentione.
Anonymised analytics data is retained by Google for up to 26 months (our GA4 data retention setting). GoatCounter retains aggregated page view counts indefinitely but deletes individual visitor session data after 8 hours. If you've emailed us, we keep your correspondence for reference unless you request deletion.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under GDPR (EU/EEA), CCPA (California), or similar regulations. These include the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold about you. Since we collect almost no personal data, exercising these rights is straightforward. Under GDPR, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Cookie Management
The GA4 cookies (_ga, _ga_*) are first-party cookies with a maximum lifespan of 2 years. You can block them in your browser settings without affecting site functionality. Most browsers also offer "Do Not Track" settings. We honour DNT signals where technically feasible. For detailed cookie controls, consult your browser's privacy documentation or use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Third-Party Services
This site is hosted on Vercel, which maintains standard server access logs for security and operational monitoring. These logs may include IP addresses, timestamps, and user-agent strings. Vercel's data processing is governed by their Data Processing Agreement. All tour bookings occur on Viator's platform, we never handle payment data. See Viator's privacy policy for their data practices.
Changes to This Policy
We update this page when our data practices change. The last-updated date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be noted here. This is a static site with no user accounts, so we cannot email you about policy updates.
No Sale of Personal Data
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise disclose personal data to third parties for their commercial use. There are no advertising networks, data brokers, or tracking partnerships on this site. Our only revenue comes from Viator affiliate commissions, and those are based on anonymous click attribution, not personal data. This will not change. If we ever add a feature that collects personal data (such as a newsletter), we will update this policy and provide an opt-in mechanism before any data is collected.
